SOCIAL PROBLEM AMONG ADOLESCENTS.

Assalamualaikum to all. Dear our Director of IKM KL Tuan Haji Norzainee Shah Bin Ibrahim, Deputy of Student Affair En.Adnan Bin Jamaluddin, Deputy Of Academy Affair Puan Rosnani Binti Mohd Rosdi, Our English lecture Madam Ardania Bt Ayub and to all my friends.

Social  problem  among  adolescents  are  a phenomena  that  we  worry  about  today. Problem  such  as  drug,  addiction,  student  misconduct,  free  association  and  so  on  we  widespread  and  growing.  There  are  many  factors  that  cause  social  problem  in these  adolescents.

One of them is a family crisis that causes social control over children being neglected. Parents who are often quarrels will certainly not be able to nurture and educate their children well and perfect. This situation worsens when there is a parent busy with their job at the office and ignores their responsibility to monitor the behavior of their children. As a result, there are children who escape home, associating with unreliable partners and from where the social problems mentioned above are.

In addition to parents, the problem is also due to the influence of mass media. In this fast-growing technology era, teens are susceptible to various negative influences through the internet and many other channels until their minds are easily poisoned by unhealthy elements. In addition, the modernization demands which put pressure on adolescents who want freedom to escape from parent congestion and demanding individual rights also cause adolescents to reject the authority of parents who control their behavior.

In addition, peer influence is also one of the factors of social problems. When children increase adolescence, relationships with parents are as tense as children are closer to their peers. This close relationship causes some children to easily mimic the negative conduct of their friends. Therefore, adolescents must have complete identity so that they can not be easily influenced by troubled peers. Teenagers need to be wise in choosing a friend because the study finds that teens currently spend more time with their friends than with their families. Adolescents need to stay away from bad friends and try to influence them to engage in these social activities.

This social problem is also closely related to the deterioration of discipline in the school. Because there are a handful of schools that do not impose severe penalties on students who break discipline, they will dare to do the same. These bad habits will be taken by them when they leave school. This will certainly give a negative perception of the people towards them and also make it difficult for admission to higher education as well as work environment as the student's testimonials are negative.

In conclusion, social problems should be taken seriously by all parties as adolescents are important assets for future development of the country. Hence, all parties must play a role and be responsible for addressing social problems so that adolescents do not fall into those social phenomena. As far as the country is free from these social phenomena, then the country can produce a clean generation of problems and this born generation can lead our country towards Vision 2020 and can form a peaceful, harmonious state.
